Nutrition and fitness are two things that seems to be a topic of great concern at the moment with obesity and diet related health problems being such a big problem in the western community. I am personally trying to piece together and wade through the theorys and fads to find a balanced a way of living.

I am not looking to change my lifestyle due to any medical problems however I have struggled for a long time with my weight and I have a serious love hate relationship with food after years of trying to control myself around it. So as a result of realising my dodgy relationship, I have decided to try and alter my mindset from losing weight to being a fit and healthy person, because what do you do if you lose something? try and find it! so I decided it was a unhealthy way to view my situation.

But where to start you say?

This is a difficult question as there is so much conflicting research and literature, it can be a nightmare to find out where to begin, What should I eat? What excersises should I do? Etc. A million different questions!

My plan is to try and anwser these questions and give an insight using my own experience and knowledge, there is nothing worse than people preaching about being healthy and making you feel bad. So rememeber this is only my opinion and my experience.

I find that everyone is different, and everyone finds different methods easier or harder, so there not a right way to lose weight or be healthy, but there is one thing that will always be right. Balance. Something I’ve found very hard as I am definitely an all or nothing girl. So here we go! Cheers to balance!
